My heart and well wishes go out to all gays in Moscow!
I just learned that the gay pride organizers have asked the European Court of Human Rights to order the city of Moscow to pay one-million Euros (about $1.5 US)!!! This, because of the fact that Moscow has been banning pride parades over the past two years.
The complainants have filed the lawsuit against the city government and City Mayor Yuri Lushkov.
Over the years, Lushkov failed to grant the pride organizers permits to hold their gay pride festivals. Apparently, the mayor was “concerned” with possible violent scenarios.
Which is totally funny because really, how violent can we homosexuals really be? (not counting the matters exchanged in bed, of course! LOL) In any case, most, if not all, of the so-called violent scenarios are usually results of provocation!
The next William Sledd?
Is this guy, who apparently calls himself “gay” and “Asian” (I still see don’t any hint that he is), the next William Sledd of “Ask A Gay Man” Youtube fame? What bothers me somehow is the way he drops the term “bitches” as if there’s no tomorrow. What do you think of his views?
I personally think that the year 2007 was one of the most fun-filled, dramatic, memorable, crazy years for the LGBT community. I mean, virtually every aspect that has something, anything, everything (!) to do with gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals were and have been addressed or dealt with.
First off, in the pop culture department, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling “outed” well-loved Albus Dumbledore. What’s good about this is that instead of getting lukewarm (or even hateful) remarks/response, the idea of a gay Dumbledore, Hogwarts Headmaster, was well-received and even earned Rowling a round of applause. The story was a major success and it will definitely go down to history. A gay character, a key one at that, in one of the best selling book series in history. To describe this as amazing is such an understatement.
Secondly, remember the “Grey’s Anatomy” fiasco? Wherein homophobic actor Isaiah Washington used the dreaded “F” word against T.R. Knight? Well, well, well…wasn’t that a case of a homophobe getting the shitty end of the stick? I’m sure this “actor” will physically cringe whenever he hears the word “faggot.” Too bad this a**hole still has work!
Thirdly, the Fort Lauderdale saga. The toilet paper-Jim Naugle saga that will go down into the books of history. Who will ever forget his stupid proposal for a robo-john?
Fourthly, and again on the pop culture/Hollywood/gossip department, more and more celebrities are now coming out of the closet, to our utmost joy, of course! Show your gay pride indeed! There’s David Hyde Pearce of “Frasier” fame, T.R. Knight of course and the big shocker (? was it really still a shocker?) Jodie Foster who finally declared her love and fidelity to her longtime partner.
Fifthly - there’s of course the number of gay pride events this year. Most, if not all, of them were considered successful and well-attended. Naturally, Show Your Gay Pride was there to talk all about the ins, outs, events, who’s who and what’s there in the first few months of this blog. Don’t we deserve a pat on the back for that?
There are still so many LGBT/GLBT stories that happened last year — we’ll talk more about that in the next few days.
What about you? What were your favorite/top LGBT/GLBT stories of 2007?
TOO CUTE!!!
Found this pretty neat site called HumperBumper that makes bumper stickers!
What makes this website special is that they have a special section just for gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals and my personal favorite…the NAUGHTY section! (but of course!)
I mean don’t you just like these? Come on, admit it! ![]()
Fun, fun, fun!
Pretty cute gift ideas, don’t you think so?

Coach admits wearing 13-year old knickers
Now this is really, really weird that I just love the turn of events!
A 29-year old tennis coach has admitted that she wore her 13-year old trainee’s knickers…and of course denied having any sexual relations with the kid.
Now here’s the more bizarre thing — when police searched coach Claire Lyte’s home they discovered the pink underwear in a gift bag containing massage oil and lotions.
Yup, OIL and LOTIONS.
DNA trace also revealed that the coach wore the underwear twice.
Major queer stuff, eh? I LOVE IT! Show your gay pride, indeed!
Of course, any good story should also have a punch line. Here’s what the coach had to say:
“I wouldn’t knowingly wear a pair of her pants with her name tag in them. That’s what’s confusing, that I put them on and didn’t notice the name tag.”
BRAVO!

All together now — I’m coming out! I want the world to know, I wanna let it show…oohhwoohhoo!!!
“Grey’s Anatomy” star T.R. Knight just filmed an ad for GLAAD. This one’s because it’s NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY! (well, in a few hours, that is)
Here’s T.R.’s statement about the LGBT community: “Gay and transgendered people are part of every community. We are your neighbors, your coworkers, your family…”
Well done!
