Show Your (Gay) Pride

The moment I saw this, I knew I had to read on!

Don’t you just want to throw yourself to this beautiful crowd? Yes, it’s the start of this year’s much-awaited Winter Party Festival!

Muchos gracias! :D), is featuring the WPF. (You know what this means…the Gay Pride festivals are also just around the corner!)

So just what is the WPF and what can you expect there? Here’s something from the official WPF website:

Launched in 1994 as a one-time charity dance event on the sands of beautiful South Beach, Winter Party Festival has evolved into a six-day festival benefiting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community on the national and local levels. Over 10,000 guests from all over the United States and abroad attend at least one of the 20 events - including music, fashion, art, comedy and more — that take place in Miami and Miami Beach. The Festival climaxes with the Winter Party Beach Party, a dance event on the sands of South Beach that draws a crowd of more than 5,500 revelers. The 15th Annual Beach Party will be the centerpiece of the 2008 Winter Party Festival. This fabulous celebration, benefitting the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, is also an important fundraiser for the LGBT community. To date, the Festival and its sister event, the Miami Recognition Dinner, have raised over $1.6 million for organizations serving the South Florida LGBT community.

Who’s going?

It can now be said. Singer John Mayer does not only have a nice, soothing voice…he also has the PACKAGE to boot! And yep, it’s official. He’s kinky, curious and fun…and we love him AND his package!

Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal (R), the very same guy who chastised homosexuals big time and who fought before the Supreme Court to criminalize homosexuality under Texan law, is now under investigation for misconduct after the discovery of e-mails containing sexually explicit videos, racist jokes and what is described as torrid love notes to his executive secretary.

HAHAHAHA!

I tell you, the gay bashers are usually the ones who have the scariest skeletons in their closets! And to think this Rosenthal guy is married! OMG I can’t imagine the embarrassment this has all caused to his family!

I can only imagine the hundreds of judges, attorneys and legal officers out there who are busy burning the midnight oil just to delete all incriminating emails and burning all incriminating love notes to assistants/secretaries! HAHAHA!

Adamo Ruggiero of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” fame has come out! Another cute, talented one joins the forces! Show your gay pride indeed! *hugz Adamo*

He was questioning things that I was questioning and I was just a kid and I’m completely petrified and you don’t really understand or know where you fit in or who you are, and my character’s asking these exact same questions, but he moved along a little faster than I did - for TV time’s sake…I think it really scared me. I think I suddenly had this kind of third life. There was the composed life and the TV life, and then there was my personal life in a way. So it was a little overwhelming in the sense that everything that I was feeling…”

A frequent boy toy here in Show Your Gay Pride, Matthew McConaughey is reportedly having a baby! The Sexiest Man Alive of 2005 and girlfriend Camilla Alves (a Brazilian model) will soon be parents. Does this mean he’s not gay after all? Does this mean his torso-showing days are over? Que horror! Matthew himself announced the news on his website. Check it out here.

Zackie Achmat, openly gay 2003 Nobel Peace Prize nominee and one of the world’s most visible HIV/AIDS activists, has finally tied the knot!

Zackie wed Dalli Weyers before 300 guests. The ceremony was performed by a judge. Former British High Commissioner Ann Grant served as master of ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was held at a yacht club near Cape Town, South Africa.

The wedding invitations, interestingly, had the slogan “safe sex, antiretroviral drugs and rock ‘n roll.” Cute!

Zackie’s the same person responsible for forcing the South African government to finally approve a 5-year plan which enables distribution of free AIDS treatment drugs to all who need them. In 2003, Zackie was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts.
