Here’s a nice twist to the usual erotic stories, poems and pictures that homosexuals like us usually see in the Internet these days. Check out The Masque (click on their ad on the right side of this blog) - an erotic renaissance of the days gone by.

If you’re as curious as I am on how the masquerade balls of yesteryears went - then imagine THAT mixed with curious pictures, curious poems and sexually charged stories for the LGBT community.

I particularly like the presentation — instead of something direct and “spoonfed,” The Masque presents it with class, distinct taste and passion. The Salon, for instance, is a category where odes to the likes of Sappho and Thamyris are presented. Before you strike that confused look, however, The Salon boasts of stories and poems like a co-ed’s first time lesbian experience with her roommate, a bisexual newlywed seduces and is seduced by her professor and an older female attorney who falls for a young female paralegal. Ah…I can imagine how the protagonists throw themselves in the throes of passion in those stories!

Other categories in The Masque include The Attic, The Conservatory and The Library.

Visit The Masque today and see why I’m excited about this website!

“My name’s Shannon, and one of the most interesting facts about me is that despite my extremely feminine physical appearance, I’m actually a man…I’m one of the most masculine girls you’ll ever meet. I’m like one of the boys.”

And so this Shannon Pallay from Bravo Network’s “Make Me A Supermodel” show said.

How I wish this is true - someone can finally represent us at those damn supermodel searches! Show Your Gay Pride, honey!

Are you and your partner getting hitched?

A bit lost on how to find the perfect church where you could seal your love, acceptance and faith?

I just found a pretty neat website for gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual marriages, civil unions and the like. Check WelcomingChurches out.

“WelcomingChurches.com is a new resource for churches, church staff, and Christians around the country who believe that the Body of Christ should be known for welcoming everyone just as Christ did.”

I mean for that description alone, I think they’re the real thing. WelcomingChurches is a national directory of LGBT-friendly congregations - hence it’s a “must-check-out-website” thing!

Do visit their website and don’t forget to come back and let me know what you think!

I mean don’t you just like these? Come on, admit it! :D

Fun, fun, fun!

Pretty cute gift ideas, don’t you think so?

Proud to be gay actor and activist of gay rights Sir Ian McKellen has been awarded one of Britain’s highest honors - he’s now an official “Companion of Honor.”

The order, which only has 65 members, was founded by George V to recognize leaders in the arts, science and industry. Sir Ian was praised for his work as an actor and a human rights activist.

“I am honored to join an Order which includes such distinguished practitioners in the arts. It is particularly pleasing that ‘equality’ is included in my citation,” Sir Ian McKellen was quoted as saying.

Congratulations!

Keep up the very good work, Sir Ian!

Consider this: If Canada’s top Roman Catholic official apologized to you for the failings of the church, will you forgive him…and consequentially, the church?

This is what exactly happened when Canada’s Marc Cardinal Ouellet admitted in an open letter published in Quebec newspapers Wednesday that scandals have tarnished the image of the church in Quebec and that “we must humbly ask forgiveness.”

Ouellet, archbishop of Quebec and Roman Catholic primate of Canada, wrote that this “abuse of power” including the sexual aggression of priests against children - put public faith in distraught and has stirred in a lot of controversy.

“I recognize that the narrow minds of some Catholics, prior to 1960, encouraged anti-Semitism, racism, indifference toward First Nations and discrimination toward women and homosexuals,” Ouellet wrote, adding that these mistakes have tarnished the church’s image.

Ouellet also wrote that such has driven a wedge between the Quebec public and its religious identity.

“We understand. Forgive us for all this pain.”

If you read these kinds of words from an archbishop, do you think you can find it in your heart to forgive?

Happy National Coming Out Day everyone! *w00t*!!!

national coming out day logo This is the time when the name of this website, ShowYourGayPride, perfectly coincides with a certain celebration (well, apart from all the Pride events, of course) Show Your Gay Pride indeed!

The National Coming Out Day logo you see here is the one created and generously donated by Keith Haring to the Human Rights Campaign. Nice!

Speaking of nice — big CONGRATULATIONS are definitely in order for all of you who have made that brave move to be true to yourselves.

In this day and age, amid all pressures, it can be difficult to be comfortable with your own sexuality. It can be difficult to stick to what you believe in. It can be difficult to fight for equality and truth. Hence, if you now feel that you are finally OUT! and FREE and YOURSELF — congratulations and consider yourself blessed.

Congratulations are in order too for those who do not prosecute, malign and discriminate the members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. Congratulations for looking far beyond what “small” people see — and thank you for welcoming us into your lives. Blessed are your hearts!

Celebrate the truth today!
